OUR RESTAURANT

Opium specialises in oriental fusion cuisine, offering a mix of traditional Dim Sum and fusion dishes. We’re open everyday and look forward to welcoming you here in the heart of Glasgow city centre.

It is great for working lunches or to catch up with friends. As night falls our interior transforms, and is perfect for an intimate dinner or celebration with family and friends.

The true Oriental approach to eating is informal, without set courses. Dim Sum and larger dishes are eaten together, served tapas style, allowing everyone around the table to share. To retain their freshness, dishes are brought to you the minute they are cooked.

We highly recommend selecting dishes with variety in mind, mild balancing spicy, fried accompanying steamed; and vegetables complementing meat.

OUR TEAM

Head chef Kwan Yu Lee has created a menu for Opium reflecting all of his experiences and abilities. Lee who is ‘old school’ trained, worked his way up from humble beginnings as a 16 year-old apprentice alongside master chefs in Hong Kong.

Having learned the classical foundations of Chinese cooking, Lee was determined to take his culinary skills to new heights and moved to the UK, absorbing techniques, ideas and ingredients from across the Far East. Some 35 years later, we are proud to have Lee in our kitchen at Opium.
Trevor Lee
